A Cruise Through The Panama Canal On Oceana

We just got back from a cruise through the Panama Canal that started in Los Angeles and ended in Miami. We went with a bunch of friends (14 friends) who we know from our motorhome club. We flew to LAX and then transported by bus to the port of Los Angeles about 40 minutes away.

This is a dusk view of our ship the Vista. It is a 1,200 passenger cruise ship that started in service in 2023. Oceana is a high level cruise line noted for their food quality.

The first day we got settled into our comfortable cabin which was on deck 9, the port side. The port side would mean being on the land side most of the trip. We went to have dinner and about 7pm the ship left port. The Vista was so quiet we almost did not know we were moving. The next morning, Ensenada, Mexico.

The top photo is the 12th deck pool and lounge area. Bottom photo is Ensenada harbor.

Next post will continue the trip with the second days events.
